Collection: Mahi
Mahi is a river in Rajasthan. Mahi also means Earth Goddess. The motif in this collection is called as Bhalka (spear or arrowhead) and it is associated with the Gadia Lohar, a tribe of itinerant iron workers. For generations these blacksmiths and their families have traveled on bullock carts from village to village, repairing or making the tools used by farmers. And that is how the motif came alive on their garments.
This small capsule collection is made with cotton fabric using vegetable and mineral dyes - absolutely no chemical dyes. It is threada's one step closer to creating sustainable clothing for our earth - and hence, Mahi (which means Earth Goddess)
